Mission
To provide a safe, family-friendly 5k fun run and kid’s run event to the community as a fundraiser for the Mountain View Parent Nursery School.

History
Down by the Bay 5k (and Tot Trot) Fun Run fundraiser event was founded in 2014 by the Mountain View Parent Nursery School to assist the school with the expenses of moving to a new location. With the help of the community, the dedication of the teachers at MVPNS and alumni and current parents who gave their volunteer hours/donations, MVPNS was able to successfully fundraise to move to a new location in 2015.

Mountain View Parent Nursery School, or MVPNS, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children NAEYC), was founded in 1969 by a dedicated group of parents who wanted to enroll with their children in a parent cooperative preschool. The school was established as a non-profit organization.
